A graduate of SUNY Purchase, Bruce Ferri, joined New York City Lites in 1984 after meeting Deke Hazirjian while working for the young cable network Daytime (later to become Lifetime). His designs have been seen on ABC, NBC, CBS, as well as FOX, A&E, Comedy Central, ESPN, and many other prominent networks. Bruce’s work with cutting edge technology including automated lighting fixtures, fiber optic lighting, LED fixtures, and low power CDM lighting brings a certain sharp look to his designs. He recently received an Emmy nomination for ESPN’s Sports Center. This innovative design incorporates several elements of lighting built into the scenery giving Sports Center a clarity and crispness that catches the eye and draws the viewer into the program. His designs for ESPN have raised the standards by which sports fans measure their sports coverage. Bruce’s current project is a redesign of the Lighting for ESPN’s new Hi-Def Studios in Bristol, CT. Working with the latest technology and the new Hi-Definition Cameras, this design will once again change the way the world views sports coverage.
